Due to various happenings of late, I have developed this strange liking to the US. Specifically, the politics around the Civil War, New York and Washington D.C.

This started because- I LOVE (and watch) Trueblood. One of the main characters was a soldier in the Civil war. This sparked my interest because of my lack of knowledge on the subject...

This grew after- A friend posted her fabulous pics of D.C. on FB and I subsequently found a fabulous blog about D.C. (http://taza-and-husband.blogspot.com/)

This became legit after- I found an educational book at lover's house called The Metaphysical Club: A Story of Ideas in America by Lewis Menand.

And now- I am super excited to see 'The Conspirator' at the local 'arty' cinema with a friend on Sunday!!

I might even plan a trip there...

I've been reading a few satisyingly interesting blogs lately and realised how much I neglect my own. There are some very dedicated bloggers out there....
